Vu Skateboard Shop
General Info / Bio
Vu skateshop (pronounced view) is located in Baltimore, MD. The shop was opened by pro Gary Smith and sales rep Chris Donmoyer to promote their view of skateboarding. They saw the need to create a stronger skateboarding community in the City of Baltimore and beyond. Therefore, Gary and Chris thought a skateshop would be a likely catalyst to promote the building of family and community through skateboarding. The balanced set of skills and knowledge linking Gary's experience as a pro skater and Chris as a sales rep has served well in the shops first year and a half of success.
Since the opening of Vu in 2008, Gary and Chris have built a mini-ramp in the back of the store, assembled a loyal team of pro and amateur skaters, put out 3 videos, supported skateboarding related musicians and artists, as well as collaborated on a skateboard with Rasa Libre. The shop has a welcome feeling with skaters, filmers, and photographers regularly meeting to go out and skate while people of all ages and abilities stop in to buy products. Vu is all-inclusive and lacking negative vibes inspiring skaters from nearby areas to also visit the shop.
Vu is in business to support skateboarders and promote skateboarding culture. Gary and Chris have been working for free since day one, forfeiting their personal paychecks to invest in scene building. The bottom line is that Vu is skateboarder owned and operated shop dedicated to improving the scene in Baltimore, the lifestyle, and culture for all skateboarders. Thus, if you are in the area you are more than welcome to stop in and visit with Baltimore's finest. - Greg Lang
